Biggest motorsport achievement to date? In 2022, myself and my wife decided to give Targa Rallying a go. It’s a slower paced discipline when compared with Stage Rallying but with no less skill or determination required! We finished the championship as 1st driver and navigator in our class and took a novice title too.
2022 was also my first full year in a stage rally championship. We finished 3rd in class on the Welsh Rally Championship after a tough start in the 205 with reliability issues, before upgrading to a Ford Fiesta R2 in the second half of the year.
Favorite rallying memory? I can’t choose one! Finishing my first rally in my self-built Peugeot 205 was a huge achievement and a moment I’ll never forget. I’ve been to many rallies over the years as a spectator, there’s a few that stick in my memory - Wales Rally GB 2002, where I first fell in love with rallying! Wales Rally GB 2017, stood at the finish line in Brenig when Elfyn Evans won his first rally and Ogier/M-Sport became world champions. Rallye de France Alsace 2012, in the huge crowds of Seb Loeb’s hometown, Hagenau where we won the title that year and Rally Hungary 2019 listening to ERC Radio where good friend, Chris Ingram won the championship!
What do you do for a living? I’m a videoconferencing and communications specialist for a large telecoms company
Favorite car? A difficult one, I once owned a Subaru Impreza P1 which I’d love to own again, I also love Peugeot 205 GTis but I’ve got to say my Fiesta R2! I love it!
Favorite meal? An easy one, full English breakfast (maybe not before a rally though)
Who’s your biggest inspiration? Richard Burns was my hero growing up and still my inspiration today. I carry a pair of his boots with me in the car on every rally.
